Transvestitism is the practice of cross dressing and transvestites are the category of people who wears the clothes of opposite sex. The section of these transvestites had evolved since time immemorial. There are mentioning about these category even in the Bible. In due course of time they faced so many transformations. Their way of living, social acceptance etc changed with the rest of the world.
By the 1970s they attained a new status. It was then they themselves coined the term cross dressers. They were not satisfied of being addressed as transvestites and the new name gave them more confidence and a new status. Since then they started to live as a socially established group of individuals they started new methods to improve their standards.
The pedestal of the whole class of transvestites was the affection and fascination towards the opposite gender. So it has to be kept in mind that mere dressing up will not capitulate their aim to be like the opposite gender. It needs a lot more. Being like opposite sex need a top to bottom change in behavior change in the way of living and more clearly change in a holistic way. Then only the transformation will get complete. Otherwise it will give a fell like they are being the caricatures dressed up to be like comic characters.
As a class of individuals with special interests they had changed a lot. Their approaches and needs also had changed. Now as a sect of people what they require is the transformation from the social taboos and stigmas attached with.
Transformation means change in character as a whole so in the case of transvestites also the change independently and also together as a class. It involves their outlook towards the rest of the world for that the same the vice versa is also a pre-requisite.
Earlier they were viewed as some special category with some mental disorder and when they try to adjust it with their physical appearance they got mixed response. But when they themselves acquired a status by being different from homosexuals’ gays and lesbians it was an outbreak of their confidence.
Now they have an alliance for those who are with common interests and they are identified as a out of the ordinary grouping. This association has made a considerable development for their community. This stands as a sign board for those who are with the similar interests. Internet is also a source in the theme. There is a lot of information available for them.
The transvestite transformation has now attained new status. The transvestites are a category of people with different interests. The reasons may be many but their intention is to be like the opposite gender. It sometimes needs certain medications or some even go for hormones which help the transformation.
In the society everyone has the freedom to live as they like, provided it does not harm the fellow beings. In the case of transvestites they never do any harm to the rest of the world. So there is nothing wrong in living like them. But while doing something it should be with perfection and no one should find a fault with it
